Strengthening Workforce Development for the Semiconductor Industry
Austin, TX – October 3, 2025 – WGNSTAR today announced that its Semiconductor Bootcamp, a hands-on workforce training program designed to prepare new talent for the semiconductor industry, has officially been certified by SEMI, the industry’s leading global trade association.
The SEMI Certified Program designation confirms that Semiconductor Bootcamp meets rigorous standards for quality, safety, and industry relevance. By providing pre- and post-assessment, the program gives employers confidence that participants are prepared for the demands of real-world fab and subfab environments.
The week-long training, held at WGNSTAR’s Austin, Texas facility, introduces participants to essential semiconductor concepts including cleanroom protocols, safety procedures, and operation of critical tools and equipment. The program blends classroom instruction, hands-on labs, process tool training, and virtual reality simulations to bridge the gap between academic learning and on-the-job performance.
Participation in the program is offered exclusively to employers, enabling them to use the bootcamp as an onboarding and workforce development solution. Graduates of the program earn two certifications:
- Certificate of Completion from WGNSTAR, backed by SEMI certification.
- Certificate of Completion for Swagelok VCR/VCO Essentials Training, taught by a Swagelok-certified trainer.
