Pay Rate: Up to $140K depending on experience
Join our dynamic Semiconductor EPI Manufacturing Team as a Sr. Equipment Engineer and contribute to the development and optimization of our semiconductor manufacturing processes.
About the Job:
- Serve as the tool owner, ensuring familiarity with all aspects of the equipment, software, and facilities to operate, maintain, and make critical decisions to meet factory Operational Availability goals.
- Independently design, develop, modify, and evaluate standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to direct projects or several small projects with complex features or detailed phases of larger projects.
- Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
- Lead Safety 8D events, perform equipment root cause analysis (RC, CA/PA, OCAP), and testing activities to meet project requirements and implement preventative solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
- Plan, implement, and manage compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Train less experienced staff members to improve equipment operational availability (Uptime).
- Adapt and take on any other duties as assigned by the management team.
- Maintain, develop, and optimize equipment for the epitaxial growth of semiconductor materials.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify areas for Uptime improvement, yield enhancement, and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with process engineering and production teams to introduce improvement ideas into production.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment-related issues to minimize downtime and improve mean time before failure.
- Design and execute equipment improvements to optimize performance for cost, quality and productivity improvements.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance metrics, such as TPM, Uptime, Preventative Maintenance, Mean Time Before Failure, Failure Rate, and defects to identify areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to less experienced technicians in troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues.
- Develop and maintain equipment documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.
- Plan and direct initiatives that improve the performance of the Fab and company.
- Bachelor's or university degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar qualification.
- Minimum five years of experience.
- Knowledge of epitaxy semiconductor equipment such as ASM E2/E2000, LPE 2061, LPE 3061, AMAT Centura (Pronto) is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of engineering practices: Operational Availability, ability to read electrical schematics, metrology, SPC control, root cause analysis, CA/PA methodology.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Office: Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint, capable of presenting to senior-level management.
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to use data mining tools like JMP.
- Strong communication skills: Communicates effectively with all levels of management as well as operators and technicians.
