Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responds immediately to emergencies, including medical incidents, hazardous material events, and other safety‑related situations.
- Leads emergency response operations as ERT Captain, directing teams during medical, chemical, gas, HAZMAT, and rescue events.
- Ensures strict compliance with safety protocols such as PPE requirements, Lockout/Tagout (CoHE), and chemical handling procedures.
- Conducts routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard‑prevention checks to support a safer and more efficient workplace.
- Completes and reviews Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) and communicates shift updates to keep cross‑functional teams aligned.
Requirements:
- Supports safety projects and cost‑reduction initiatives through data analysis and preventive maintenance activities.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office applications to complete documentation, reporting, and communication tasks efficiently.
- Able to obtain certifications in SCBA, SKA, APR respiratory protection, HAZMAT response, and confined space/high‑angle rescue.
- Have a current EMT certification.
Physical Effort/Activities:
May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
