Schedule: Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: $53 -56/hr 
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid Role, 2 days remote/3 days in office)
Position Type: Full Time

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build chemical reaction and atomistic scale models to better understand and optimize vapor and liquid etch processes.
  • Model chemical reactions on semiconductor surfaces.
  • Build density functional theory and/or molecular dynamic chemical models into simulation software to optimize tool and process design.
  • Interface with the development team to define project strategy and deliverables.
  • Fully document work to provide colleagues with enough detail to maintain engineering simulations and/or code.
  • Strong emphasis is placed on candidates who can find solutions to difficult problems through structured project management and work in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills are considered critical. The candidate will communicate project goals and status updates internally and externally.
  • Some domestic and international travel are required.
Requirements:
  • The candidate must have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics, or an equivalent field specializing in computational Chemistry.
  • Experience modeling Quantum Chemistry is required.
  • Experience with DFT simulations for reaction network search is required.
  • Experience using Gaussian software and/or other DFT software is required.
  • Experience with scientific software development to extend existing software for custom simulation and analysis needs is required.
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is desirable.
  • Strong project management experience is required.
  • Strong technical writing ability is required.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight is required.
