This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with our client.
Summary:
The Director of Operations position oversees management of all manufacturing plant operations to produce products in the most cost effective manner within quality standards in addition to developing new product and responsible for overseeing product development initiatives for the organization and new product launching. Must have industrial manufacturing plant experience and ability to speak Spanish.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages plant managers, supervisors and leads to ensure that production of business is productive and produced in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Ensures standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.
- Ensures fixed assets are preserved and Initiates recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property.
- Develops, monitors, and reports on operating costs within functional areas.
- Alerts management of cost and labor over run for production.
- Ensures orders are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards are met.
- Advises plant supervisor on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances, etc.
- Ensures plant supervisor is adhering to company policy and administering practices in fair and equitable manner.
- Manages budget and controls expenses effectively.
- Is involved in the hiring, training and development of staff for production department.
- Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy and consults with human resources as appropriated.
- Develops and reviews design prototypes, perform test and finalize product design to facilitate mass production.
- Analyzes new components, materials and technologies to evaluate functionality for all new product development.
- Prepares comprehensive project plans with technical objectives and detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare and approve product design and test plans, review design and recommend adequate changes to the approved models before actual role out of new products.
- Approve prototypes of new designs, conduct performance analysis of prototypes and ensure assemblage of products follow company’s quality parameters.
- Design innovative production techniques and provide support to existing ones for improvements.
- *Develop new technology and devices to test functionality of new products and manage same in target market.
