This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with our client. 


**This position is being advertised in multiple cities in the USA for reach.  The position will require relocation to the Sheboygan, WI area domestic moving assistance is available.  This will be an onsite position.**

Role overview:

As a Chemist you will be responsible for the research and development of new metalorganic compounds and materials. This involves conducting laboratory experiments to synthesize and characterize metalorganic compounds, optimizing reaction conditions, and developing innovative methods for production.  Additionally, you will ensure compliance with safety protocols and contribute to scientific publications and presentations as needed. 

Key deliverables for this role: 

  • Perform multi-disciplined, established processes, assays and/or unit operations, primarily those requiring a higher level of skill and experience. 
  • Complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines. 
  • Pull chemistry samples and submit to the lab for analysis and perform in-process analytical testing (GC, mp, TLC, UV-Vis, KF, etc.), including work-ups and simple interpretations as described within a batch record 
  • Enter information into lab notebooks, MPRs, logs, checklist, etc. 
  • Participate in root cause analysis on disqualified projects 
  • Preparing and filling containers of various chemistry for customers 
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance projects 
  • Run production schedule, complete work orders, transact inventory and print labels. 
  • Identify unsafe conditions and corrects them while notifying the supervisor 


Traits of a strong candidate: 

  • B.S., B.A. or M.Sc. degree in chemistry, organometallic chemistry or related science
  • (This position is not a PhD level) 
  • Previous lab or manufacturing experience (2+ years) 
  • Air-sensitive experience using inert gases and techniques 
  • Experience assembling, maintaining and monitoring air-sensitive distillations at atmospheric pressure or under dynamic vacuum 
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs  
  • Ability to gain respirator certification and wear proper PPE as required
  • Exhibited strong safety culture and drive to improve
